The article I picked to discuss about "NFL Run & Shootaround: Cutler's Way," by Grantland Staff.
With such an enormous sport of Football, many aspects of the sport are looked at closely. Single behaviors by specific players can be frowned upon as they are role models for children. The topic of Jay Cutler’s behavior during one part of the game last Sunday took the eye of the crowd. After flinging the ball at an opposing player, the yellow flag flew giving him a penalty for unsportsman like conduct. It went on to talk about the tragic game between the New York Jets and the New England Patriots. After scoring 2 touchdowns in less than a minute, there is much controversy on coaching and staff. It is just interesting how many little different aspects are viewed.  They view Cutler’s behavior as an immoral thing to do, yet, encourage him for his good play and performance. The New York Jets have been successful the last couple of years and now with such bad performance the coaches under fire. This interests me because I love to watch football but there are some aspects I do dislike. How it consumes a lot of people and people can even say it is some sort of a religion concerns me.

  1. I think it is hard to judge the character of a professional football player, they have good character and mean well but sometimes there attitude can come off wrong.

  2. I understand peoples love for football even when it goes as far as becoming a "religion." How ever ridiculous it may be, football is a huge part of American culture and many individuals do see it as an extremely important aspect of their life. I agree that going as far as to call it a religion may be a little out of line though. As for the actions of Cutler, I do agree with Monica that it is difficult to judge sometimes but think that he should act more responsibly as he is representing a team and acts as a role model to many.
